Beginners Orienteering Class

Getting lost happens to everyone, usually its just the minor inconvenience of taking longer to find your car in a parking lot.  Getting lost while out on a hike, can be a little more problematic.  If you are going to spend any time in the wilderness, navigation is an important skill to have.

In this workshop, students will receive instruction on how to read a map to navigate by feature, use a compass, and learn the  5 basic skills of orienteering. After the sit-down session, the students will use a map and compass to navigate their way through an orienteering course with the course instructor.
